For manual backups, select Create Backup File in Settings. This will export all your data and settings to a file you can store anywhere you choose.
If the backup file size exceeds your device's RAM (not storage) it may fail. This is only an issue if you have many high resolution Clinical Photos on an older device. Somnus will show an estimated file size before export but generally if this is below 1GB it usually succeeds.
Another way to backup your data (and all the data on your device) is to use iCloud Backup.
This automatically backs up your entire device, including application data (ie. Somnus), it is encrypted (end to end) and cannot be accessed by anybody other than you; not even by Apple.
If your device is destroyed, you can restore your data simply by setting up the new device from an iCloud backup. See here for more information. I highly recommend you use iCloud Backup even if you don't use Somnus.
If you have been using iCloud Syncing when install Somnus on a new device, and you're signed into the same iCloud Account, your data will automatically download. It may take a while to completely sync the first time.
Alternatively, you can also back up any list of cases by simply exporting them as a Somnus Data file to import into Somnus elswhere.
And finally, you can always export cases in a generic Spreadsheet (CSV) so you can import the data into another program or spreadsheet.

When you export a case (or cases) select Billing Report (PDF) or Case Report (PDF) as your export option. If you have added item numbers to Operations, Anaesthetic Items or Procedures, they will appear on the Billing Report as well as the patient's details, their ID Label and Patient Notes, if present.
For Australian users Somnus can automatically generate relevant MBS Item Numbers and add them to the reports (eg. modifiers such as age, emergency, duration, etc).
Case Reports include all case information and Photos.

Yes, provided you format the CSV file in a particular way, but it's not too daunting. See Importing Data for more information.
To save time you can even use your Templates in Somnus to speed up the CSV import process. I'm also more than happy to help you import old data (eg. spreadsheets created from old applications like iGasLog)

Disappointingly, ANZCA has no interest in helping developers create logbook Apps that can directly connect with their system. Trust me... I've asked them many times!
What I would suggest is to write to ANZCA and ask them to accept a PDF report generated from Somnus and other applications as proof of work done, rather than having to use the (now cumbersome) TPS portal which requires an internet connection for data entry.
For volume of practice items, you can flag these in Somnus, or even create your own Personal Lists to track them in even greater detail & reporting.

This is not something I can easily do, however if the PDF Summary Report is missing data that your college/training institution requires, please get in touch with me and I'll try and add it to the report for you.

As it's just me doing all this, I don't really have the time to learn two coding languages and keep two different versions updated all the time (and do my job as an Anaesthesiologist!), so I'm afraid it's only for iOS & Mac.
I have no interest in using cross-platform development processes as it invariably leads to an inferior experience on all platforms.
Enabling wide compatibility on Android devices compromises what can be offered feature-wise. In contrast, it's easier (and safer) for me to create an app that I know is going to work well on every iOS device that runs a certain version of iOS.
Finally, offering secure syncing via a cloud service outside of Apple's iCloud system is not something I'm willing to risk.
